Resolution, 1894.

Resolution adopted by the Mobile, Ala. Central Trades Council, 1894 Nov. 28. Entitled "An Address to the workingmen of Alabama," the resolution advocates the end of the convict lease system in Ala. and urges workers to unite in opposition to the practice. Also attacks the state Democratic Party and Gov. Thomas Goode Jones for not fulfilling their promise to end the system. Signed by John Martin, Secretary, and M.T. Judge, President.

Thomas Goode Jones was born on 1844 Nov. 26 at Macon, Ga. He was educated by tutors, Mongomery, Ala. schools, the schools of Dr. Charles Minor and Gesner Harrison in Virginia, and the Virginia Military Institute.
